How We Work

Los Angeles Web Design From a Studio on Your Time Zone

Los Angeles is a visual market before it is anything else. Whether you sell apparel, run a wellness studio, book production work, or operate a group of restaurants, your audience forms a verdict from a screen long before it ever meets you. A careless looking site does more damage here than almost anywhere, because your rivals have already made theirs beautiful.

BragDeal is a design and development studio based in Vancouver, British Columbia. We sit on Pacific time, so our working day is your working day. There is no waiting overnight for a reply, no scheduling calls at dawn, no handing your brand to a team that logs off just as Los Angeles gets going. We have been shipping sites since 2014 and a steady share of the client list is American.

STEP 01

Art Direction Comes Before Code

Plenty of shops will hand you a tidy grid. Far fewer will make an argument for why your label should look one particular way and not another. We begin with art direction: typeface selection, palette, spacing, photographic treatment, motion, and the overall temperature of the thing. Those decisions are what separate something that feels authored from something that feels purchased.

Motion belongs in that conversation too, used with restraint. A hero that reveals rather than slams into view. A product grid that answers a cursor. A scroll that carries a story instead of merely traveling downward. Animation should reward attention, never delay it, so we tune every transition until the page still feels immediate on a mid range handset over cellular.

If you already own photography, styling or identity assets from another collaborator, we design around them instead of insisting on a fresh start. If you do not, our branding work can produce the identity alongside the build.

STEP 02

The Kinds of Los Angeles Brands We Design For

Apparel, beauty and direct to consumer labels needing a storefront that can carry editorial imagery, lookbooks, drops and wholesale inquiries without degenerating into a slow catalog.

Hospitality groups, bars, cafes and restaurants needing menus that stay current, reservation and ordering links that behave on a handset, and photography given room to do its job.

Production companies, artists, musicians and creative freelancers needing a reel, a body of work and credits presented cleanly, plus a gated area for press or clients when the situation calls for one.

Fitness, yoga and wellness studios where schedules, memberships and first visit offers have to be legible within seconds of arrival.

Architecture, interiors and real estate practices where the portfolio is the pitch and image quality cannot be traded away for speed.

Creative and marketing agencies who have an approved comp and need a development team to build it faithfully.

STEP 03

Selling Online Without Slowing the Site Down

Commerce in a visual category is a balancing act. The imagery that sells the product is the same imagery that wrecks the page, and shoppers here browse on cellular far more than they browse at a desk. We build storefronts on WooCommerce, and we work in Shopify when that suits the operation better. Either way the priorities hold: crisp product photography sized and served correctly, a cart and checkout that does not shed people between steps, filtering that mirrors how your buyers actually shop, and fulfillment tools your own team can operate without calling us.

Then we test what we built on real handsets over real connections rather than trusting a desktop preview at full bandwidth.

Speed is treated as a design constraint from the first sketch, not a cleanup task at the end. That means deciding early how many typefaces the brand can afford, how large a hero video is allowed to be, and which effects earn their weight. Those calls are much easier to make while a page is still a drawing.

STEP 04

How a Remote Project Actually Runs

Working with a studio outside the city only feels risky when the process is vague. Ours is not. You get one point of contact rather than a rotating cast, a private staging link you can open whenever you like to watch the build take shape, and scheduled video calls at the moments where a decision is genuinely needed. Feedback is gathered in one place instead of scattered across a thread, and the number of revision rounds is agreed before anyone starts, so nothing is ambiguous later.

Because we share Pacific time, a note sent in your morning is answered in your morning. If you would rather talk it through, our number is +1 844-604-2724, and finished work is on the projects page.

Los Angeles Web Design FAQ

You are in Canada. Does that create problems for a Los Angeles brand?

In practice, no. We share your time zone, we work in English, and the whole engagement runs over video calls and a shared staging link. Most of our American clients never notice the border except when they read our address.

Can you work from a design my agency already produced?

Yes. If you arrive with an approved comp in Figma or a similar tool, we build it faithfully, flag anything that will misbehave responsively before we start, and hand back a site that matches what was signed off.

Do you build on Shopify or WooCommerce?

Both, and the choice should follow the operation rather than the fashion. Shopify suits brands that want hosted infrastructure and a large app ecosystem. WooCommerce suits brands that want deeper customization and full ownership of the storefront. We will explain the tradeoff for your catalog rather than pushing whichever we prefer.

Can you make the site fast without stripping out the imagery?

Usually, yes. Most slow visual sites are not slow because of ambition. They are slow because assets were never optimized, fonts were never subset, scripts were never deferred, and video was dropped in at full weight. Fixing those things preserves the look and recovers most of the speed.

Who owns the site when the project ends?

You do. The domain, the hosting account, the code and the content are yours. We do not hold a site hostage as a retention strategy, and we hand over every credential at the end.

Can you help once the site is live?

Yes, if you want it. Some Los Angeles brands take the keys and run everything internally. Others keep us on for updates, seasonal campaign pages, product photography swaps and performance monitoring. It is offered, never assumed.

Do you do photography and video as well?

We art direct and we integrate, and we will happily brief and work alongside a photographer or motion team you already trust. The shooting itself is not something we deliver in house.
