Our Web Design Process, Timelines and Revisions

Timing: the first 2 to 3 business days. We start with a call or an in-person meeting at our Downtown Vancouver office to learn your business, your customers, your competitors and what the website has to achieve. We review your brand materials, your current site if you have one, and how you are positioned in your market.

What we need from you: your goals for the site, any brand assets you already have, examples of websites you like, and a rough list of the pages you expect.

What you get: a written summary of what we heard and a proposed page structure, so we can confirm we are building the right thing before anything else happens.

Timing: about 1 week for a template-based site, 1 to 2 weeks for a custom design. On a custom project we begin with wireframes, simple layouts that settle the structure of each page before any colour or imagery goes in. Once you approve the structure, we design the full homepage and one inner page so you can see the real look of the site. On a template-based project we skip the wireframes and customize a proven layout to your brand.

Revisions: two rounds of design revisions are included on the concept. Most clients use one. We collect your feedback as a single list per round so nothing gets lost, and we return the updated design within 2 business days.

What you get: approved designs for desktop and mobile. Development does not start until you have signed off, because changing a design after it is built costs far more than changing it on the drawing board.

Timing: 2 to 3 business days. Before launch we run a full quality check: every page on real phones, tablets and desktops, every form submission, every link, page speed against Core Web Vitals, accessibility basics and the search engine settings. We fix what we find before you see it.

Revisions: one round of development revisions is included at this stage. Text corrections, image swaps and small layout adjustments are unlimited until launch. Anything that changes the approved scope is quoted before we do it.

What you get: a completed launch checklist and your final sign-off.

Timing: ongoing. The first 14 days after launch are covered: we fix anything that comes up and watch the analytics and Search Console for issues. After that you can manage the site yourself, or move to a maintenance plan and we keep it updated, backed up, secure and fast for you.
